Old Fool

The beauty of blogging is that people can react to what I say in real time. One of the feedback that I got from a friend in Korea, when referring to the title of my site, is that I am neither old nor a fool. (Gamsahamnida, chingu!) I am flattered.
However, referring to myself as an “old fool” gives me the literary license to rant, curse, pontificate and rage on just about anything in plain sight and get away with it. That is why I used the acronym WOOF for the title of my blog because I am ready to bite anytime. Never mind if my readers mistake my words for whines, wisdom or just plain idiocy. Or all of the above.
People expect wisdom from the old, and not follies. Sometimes, they are unsure of what their ramblings mean. If their reaction is laughter and not disdain, then they have seen through the lies, duplicity and manipulation of the people being alluded to. Just like the audience reaction to Professor Farnsworth (top) and Abe Simpson (below) creations of Matt Groening (Futurama and The Simpsons). They are cranky, opinionated and trash-talking balding old men in their respective Universes.
I can’t help but recall an online blonde joke that kept me in stitches. A blonde was watching a ventriloquist show where the puppet was taking jabs on her kind. The blonde stood up in anger and protested that his words denigrate their status as human beings. Then, she cut off the ventriloquist’s apology and said, “I’m not talking to you, I am talking to that bigoted old chap sitting on your lap!”
Better yet, just watch my son's AI video:
So, folks, if you feel alluded to in my forthcoming blogs, take it with a grain of salt. I’m not talking about you. Life is too short to be taken seriously.
Cheers.
